B.S. Chemical Engineering required
10+ years’ experience in operations/manufacturing and supervision of an operating area
Experience with Hydrocarbon Processing or Reforming or Synthesis gas production
Computer proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment including the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
This position has primary responsibility for administrative, supervisory, and engineering support to the Ammonia Area in order to maximize the operating efficiency and profitability of the Ammonia Plant and related facilities while maintaining safe and environmentally secure conditions. Ammonia facilities include: the Cogeneration Plant, Waste Water Treatment Plant, CO2 Liquefaction Plant, CO2 Compression Systems, Plant Steam Generation Systems, Plant Cooling Tower Systems, and plant water discharge system.
Demonstrate support, compliance and participation in Corporate and Facility EHS policies and goals. Execute continuous improvements of safety within the process area and champion all safety programs. Promote an atmosphere of “Do It Right”.
Develop and demonstrate a high-level knowledge of all aspects of the Ammonia Area unit operations and utilize this knowledge to solve operational problems and initiate unit improvements. Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to reduce or eliminate issues and improve downtime, and product quality.
Ensure that the ammonia area maintains adequate staffing a well-trained team prepared for retirements and attrition. Participate in the hiring of skilled operators.
Develop long and short term plans to achieve Ammonia Area, site, and corporate goals and objectives. Using a continuous improvement philosophy, look for opportunities to improve downtime, quality, costs, productivities, and other efficiencies.
Assist Production Manager in the preparation of the Ammonia Area budget which includes natural gas, steam, and electricity for the site budget.
Assist Production Manager in the preparation of the Ammonia Plant turnaround plans. Participate in Ammonia Production Best Practices. Prepare Ammonia Area Monthly Area Operating Report for the Production Manager.
