Salary: $110k-$135k+ 20% Bonus

 

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or a technical engineering discipline.

10 or more years of degreed experience in a manufacturing, engineering, quality, or supply chain environment, preferably in chemical operations.

5 or more years of demonstrated Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement experience in a chemical / petrochemical of similar manufacturing environment to drive business results.

Broad knowledge of chemical unit and manufacturing process operations.

Strong and demonstrated competencies regarding improvement techniques and/or LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.

Sound project management and organizational skills.

Coordination and negotiations skills and ability to react and lead in a changing environment.

 

Preferred

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

Solid customer relationship skills, strategic and tactical thinking, project management, conflict management, innovative thinking, entrepreneurship, financial acumen, coaching, and development expertise.

Must possess a high level of learning agility to deal with complexity, change management, delivery of results, and management of sensitive political and people-related topics.

Strong presentation and communication and able to develop and articulate a vision as well as tactics within the organization.

Solid team collaboration skills to work with indirect personnel with ability to work in a “virtual” team environment. Capable of influencing without authority at all levels of the organization to achieve operational excellence related goals.

 

This position is a leadership role with the responsibility to train, develop, support, and implement Continuous Improvement processes and projects at Freeport across all site businesses, functions, and service organizations. This role serves as the operational excellence process and expert resource provider and must lead change seamlessly across multiple units and functional interfaces to effectively coordinate, identify, and efficiently deploy operational excellence processes, projects, and support resources.

 

This position is the main point of contact and interface with the OpEx Team of NC/Z and the business continuous improvement managers to drive improvements aligned with critical site and business objectives. This is done through coordination and management of the Freeport site strategy process. The individual will be a member of the Site Development Team and will report directly to the Site Development Director. Presenting and reporting initiative updates into the manufacturing and site leadership teams will be expected on a frequent basis. The position requires an incumbent to quickly grasp the business operations concepts to manage and drive strategic projects, and analyze complex data.

Train, coach, and mentor Freeport Site employees (businesses, functions, and services) in the use of continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools.

Coordinate and track the benefits of project deliverables in the global operations database.

Manage and prioritize the continuous improvement roadmap.

Be the mentor and provide guidance for continuous improvement/technical resources at the site.

Coordinate project reviews with leadership engagement.

Act as a manufacturing representative on site-wide optimization projects.

Coordinate OPC (Overall Productivity Change) at a site level and look for synergies across businesses and functions.

Serve as the primary site contact between the site, the businesses and regional operational excellence team in North America. Provide coordination and alignment of activities.

Coordinate Process Optimization activities for the site.

Seek and develop best internal and external practices for process predictive analytics and Industry 4.0 tools and applications.

Establish consistency of approach for process dashboards, tools, and user interfaces through site-wide coordination.

Liaise with other digital application work streams to ensure alignment of technologies and platforms.

Establish pilots and support internal roll-out of projects.

Collaborate with and provide back-up to the Site Continuous Improvement Leader-People Focus.

Understand and apply fundamentals of organizational design and management of change for people.

Learn and apply Core Competencies, site values, language, and principles of insights, mindsets, and behaviors.

 

The Company will purchase the Candidate’s existing home in a relocation package if the home does not sell.
